Shola Ameobi starts for Fleetwood as they face play-off chasing Port Vale.

Town head to the Potteries, where the Valiants are unbeaten in 11 outings, looking for the win which will haul them out of the League One drop zone.

Ameobi, signed on Thursday is given the nod up front alongside Bobby Grant and Devante Cole.

In midfield the injury crisis has eased, Antoni Sarcevic and Eggert Jonsson both returning to action with David Ball filling in for Jimmy Ryan who continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

There is no such luck for Steven Pressley at the back where Nathan Pond is replaced by Marcus Nilsson, Joe Davis still absent with Stephen Jordan filling in - Conor McLaughlin returning to his more familiar right-back berth.
